Pobots (Poser+robots)
A couple of robots from Poser, with a few bits removed (I didn't like the look of), skinned in my own materials and lit and put in a scene with a bit of home made plasma. Rendered in Bryce - of course - can't say I'm very impressed with the Poser renderer. Bryce is much better I think.

That "homemade plasma" is AWESOME!!! how do you do it!?!?!
Smoke! Those robots are really "burning out" :) and that's GREAT!!!
Texturing machines is definitely easier than living skin. These robots are frighteningly good. Most impressive is, however, the composition of the pic, the floor the machines walk on and the ?atmosphere?. This is another true masterpiece of David's.
Thems bes somes goods probots Woah, those are some sexy pieces of machinery you got there! Nicely done! You say you're not impressed with poser's renderer? Do you have Poser 5? You can make some insanely detailed renders with it....then again, have you seen Agent Smith on renderosity?
Sumo robots, I like it. Great looking effect with the plasma, almost makes them look like ghostly robots that disappear into a plasma-like mist. Very nicely done with the skinning on the robots, with the amount of parts on them, I can imagine it took a while to get it to look that good.
