latenight welcome?
*sighs*... I am so very proud of the drawbridge with rolls and stuff... and it just doesn't show up properly... and I am not at all happy with the background material...still struggling with it

I guess my next exercise will have to concentrate on textures and materials... gotta find my own stuff... and finally learn how to modify what is around... In that shot I did add two additional lightsources... not sure how much impact they made though.
As is often the case, I find myself in agreement with Horo. Better materials will make a world of difference here - night scenes are very difficult to get right (well for me they are anyway), to get the best out of the materials you need the diffuse light to be striking across the surface facing the camera - but inevitably you want the moon in the shot... not compatible situations unless you add extra lighting or widen the camera angle. Tricky.
Tower and bridge are very good, so is water and landscape. What is needed is just another material for the land and rocks in the fore- and middleground. Lighting is good.
