Made with Bryce

Wasn't sure how to spell stalagnites or red flair (or is it flare) but image I could for alternative titles. The rock structures came about by following the steps in Horo's canyon manufacture tutorial. I just turned the scene on it's head. I fiddled about making what I hope were approprite materials to get that slick wet stone look and threw in some spot lights and a red flare the colour of which I took from one of my favorite films "The Thing". 100% Bryce, not even gamma correction. One of the pruists.

Very 3D, and I can clearly see no photoshopping was done. The cave spikes on the ceiling look great, but the texture of the rock looks a bit strange. Overall though everything looks good(especially lighting), but i'm just putting that 1 point down for that odd looking texture. Nothing personal of course.

Thanks. I think I'll have to look for some proper cave images to work from. The heart/ghost above the flare is supposed to be smoke lit by the intense light, maybe I need to go and take a closer look at "the thing". Don't think I'm done with caves just yet.

... beautifull

Stalagmites and Stalactites The French help: stalacMites (?a Monte = it rises) and stalacTites (?a Tombe = it falls). So your natural cave features small stalactites and a large stalacmite in the right background. It is beautiful! Very natural, very 3D. That two room cave with a recess into the dark no one knows where it leads to. The polished wet rock is not exactly right, but very nearly, perhaps other minerals deposited on them than I remember having seen in non-virtual caves. The water is beautifully fitting the scene. I don't know what the flame stands for, looks a bit like a heart, or a ghost, not like a fire flame. However, idea, lighting, material, angle of view, scope, finish: excellent. Not only a purists delight!
