Third attempt (number two still had issues with the water) here I've taken Horo's suggestion to shift the water right out of the top of the image. The fish came from poser5, the sub from DAZ's free models and the rest is Bryce5. Post production gamma correction in PSP7.

Why? The surface has disappeared, the water got a shade of green and we feel ourselves deeper down. The rock (the fish), in the distance gives the depth that would otherwise be lost without the surface. The submarine looks now like a real sub. No! It's a toy again, the plants scale it down. This reminds me of yours truly: just add something to give it the final touch -- and ruin everything. I give you a five: the plants served me as an eyes opener. Ignoring the plants, this is a smashing picture.
