The idea occured to me while I walked home lately and whatched shadows overtaking me, getting longer, fading and a small new one appeared right of me.

You've picked a real tricky subject. I've yet to be entirely convinced by any night lighing. This is as close as I've seen anyone get - some halo's around the lights might help but I think one of the main issues is the dynamic range of the eye and the way it responds to colour in low light and the lack of colour range at the low end of the colour spectrum produced by the computer. Hmn... I like the idea, I think it is going to need some serious study.
