Thanks. This was all made in Bryce - I'm pleased to say, the blue arcs are refections and re-reflections in the inside surface of a transparent sphere inside a transparent sphere inside which is the camera - the extra twisted ness of them comes from using a Panoramic render setting and tilting the camera around 45%. So yes, it is close to the panoramics tutorial, just a bit more fiddly to set up - the ray depth is critical with repeated reflection, one higher and the image is burned out one lower and it's virtually black. Patience in this area yeilds pleasing results. But it takes a lot of trial and error!
The result you can get by using curved mirrors always strikes me. At left, there is a face, lit by electric arcs from underneath but the eyes are protected by goggles. And the glasses even sit on the nose. At the sides, objects that have yet to be welded to a model not seen in the picture. Just from the result, I would have titled this one ?Ghost Welder?. However, since I'm priviledged to know a bit more about the setup, I congratulate you to the name giving, it is perfect. As for the colour, it is beautiful. And as simply achieved as the outline of the ?face?.
Cool :) I think I have just selected my next wallpaper =) I just love all kind of bryce abstracts especially when they are this huge :D How did you made all of those white curves? Photoshop? The technique from the Abstract Panoramics tutorial perhaps(why am I even asking...)?
