I know exactly what you mean about the pines, however I feel it is all about getting a balance between photo realism and generating the right impression - which I believe is largely down to getting lighting right. The pines are from bryce 5's prebuilt object tree selection if you know of a better source of pines do let us know.

I like the mountain background, and the fire is absolutly stunning. Small thing I don't like is the pine trees, they seem blocky, but it was probably impossible to make them perfect. Well done once again!
