A good overall effect, I particularly like the way the composition is held together by the sky shapes. Very nice.

Yup, nice! But, as Horo sais, larger will do better :) The japan-style house (as far as I can recognize) looks definately very good texturized. It consist of two levels, right? Then it seems that the lower part sunk in the terrain a bit. It looks natural enough no matter if you did this intentionally or not. Good one!
