Carrara 5 Pro Caustics Lighting Effect
Hi all. I know I said I'd post some Carrara renderings quite a while ago. My life and my health have been less than optimal lately and it gets quite painful to sit in front of the old computer for long periods of time so I haven't been able to do any original works. I'll post some preset images to demo some of the neat features of Carrara. This one shows off a really impresive Caustics lighting effect. Look at the light pattern inside the ring. A much more real-to-life effect in my oppinion. I'll try to post some more soon. The detail in some of these landscape images is outstanding. Some of the mountian images are very close to photograghic quality.

I agree with Rashad, ibl or a lightring from Davids combined with some other few lights to achieve this effect. And I'm not even sure it will succeed. The lack of caustics is still a weak point of Bryce, on the other hand all the limitations present are making us experiment, dig deeper inside the software and finally (and hopefully) we get the outspoken effect, or perhaps something close and very similar. And this is how we're learning to use the program, no matter the name. I'm anxious to see the photographic mountain images you spoke about.
nice So far so realistic. It's good to see this caustic render, as the bryce render engine does not have that function. It looks like a real photograph. To get these results out of bryce would almost certainly require ibl.
