Locomotive with Tender

Made with Bryce

This was the first vehicle modelled by me in Bryce 5, since steam trains have always been my favourite vehicles. A toy loco was used as reference and the whole modelling process took over a month to finish.

Good going with the booleans! Praiseworthy patience!

Astonishing work done with the few awkward modelling tools Bryce has to offer. Experiment with the materials and put it into a scene.

Impressive bryce modeling, clearly you have a lot of patience. It would be worth experimenting with different materials I believe the noisy silver and tin materials are not showing off your modeling skills here to best effect. Good work.

wow What a great modelling job. You are both brave and patient. Do a search for an artist named Pixi, and you will see his locomotive also modelled in bryce. Bryce can do great things, but as you found, it takes a month. It must have been maddening dealing with all those groups and booleans. I bet the wireframe looks almost black. Bryce is not a modelling program unfortunately, all bryce has is booleans and booleans are only one of the many tools bryce needs if it ever wants to be a reasonable modeller. If you want to go further much faster with models, you are wise to get a hold of wings3d(free),Truespace3.2(free online), hexagon, blender, 3ds max, maya, or pretty much any other package on the market offeres more modelling tools than bryce. Bryce has a very bad way of handling polygons also. It uses alot more polys for simple things than it has to, a waste of precious memory. What you have done here in bryce is excellent.
