I do like these sort of images, somehow they are very pleasing to look at and inoffensive. DOF use here really brings the scale to life.
Nice idea. Yes, a few objects float but you might have done this on purpose. I think the colour is given by the light.

The DOF looks pretty good here. It almost gives the chrono spear ball thingies further out a sharpened look. If you gave the red parts of the balls a reflective texture it might give you an interesting effect.
