Spektyr 2007 Specular Signature Ver. 3
First I extend special thanks to Horo for his rainbow strip that I used as a gel to illuminate this signature and for offering the neat Elefont program I used to generate the 3D text. I'd also like to thank Richter for reminding me about Elefont. It's really easy to use and gives great results, as you all can see here. The font used is Vladimir Script. The text has a standard Glass mat with 50% specularity and just a hint of diffusion. The illumination is done with a rectangular parallel light with Horos rainbow strip applied as a gel and angled in from the top. All comments welcome.

Cool. I've never used light gels in earnest. As far as reflections are concerned, it seems to be the next best thing to IBL. Great job.
Really nice. I'm glad to be of help, Spektyr. I'm anxious to see what will become of this signature once you get the handle of the Carrara shading system.
Thanks guys! That caustics idea sound really good. I have to get better with shaders in Carrara before I can try it. It actually was pretty easy, David. It just took a bit of tinkering to get it the way I wanted it.
Very effective and proffessional looking - and you make it sound all so easy!
This looks really good! I might like to see it on a table or something, where we can see the caustics a bit as colored "shadows" on the table. great!
