Made with Bryce

Inspired by a family member. wanted to see what it would look like if one of my family went combat style on us. Still working on a background and lighting. What I really like to know is how you get your landscape to look like it goes on forever into the darkness while keeping good lighting in the parts you want.

I got the the scene setup as well as a few enemy forces.

I can't say more than what David did already. The cut head is a real show stopper. Gat's idea to put this girl in a desert context sounds very good to me.

Model pose and light look good. Framing is an issue, since you've chopped off the top of her head - which is a bit unfortunate. As far as light control goes, IBL will not be a great asset, if I understand the look you desire, then you need to surround your model with radial light sources these will illuminate the immediate forground well but let everything in the background fade to black.

. It looks great, the only thing is the I think would look cool, is if she was in a desert, and that square was some kind of stone/rock, like the once pyramids are made of. Also, I would use high IBL settings + soft shadows (make sure to use 36 samples for render settings).

She looks cute but dangerous. I wouldn't want to get on her bad side. ;-) As far as lighting goes, try playing with the falloff settings on your main lighting. Take a look at my 'Temple of Golden Light' images where I have it set so it doesn't reach beyond the steps.
