Here's an interesting new one. I know it's dark but take a good look at the detail. It hast some nice 3 dimensionality to it. All comments welcome. BTW, Please check out my new web site and let me know what you think. http://www.spektyr.com Thanks.

A conversation around the artwork

I didn't choose that. That's the way the JAlbum template did it. I have to work on modifying the template to make the changes I need. This is going to be FUN. The only alternative is to tweek the code on all the "slide" pages, all 60+ of them. LOL

Yes, your site looks better now. Any reason why you made that fat frame around the pictures white? I would have made it grey, but it's your choice, of course.

Thanks Horo! I've redesigned the site with JAlbum and it now has a black background and a completely different look. There's also a slideshow function once you select an image. I did it really quickly and I need to check image sizing and quality settings. The quality of the large images isn't that great right now. Not to worry though. I'll get it right even if I have to resize the images myself. ;-)

Well, for me it's a man on a bike, can't help it. Looks terribly good, though. I've visited your website before you made the changes to blue. Gat is quite right. This bright blue almost blinds me on my 1920 x 1280 monitor. I also have that white on my site but where I have pictures, I use a darker background, something like the background of this text. I wouldn't take black because if you have pictures with a white frame, it hurts, too. Use something gray-like, something that works for black and white perimeters of pictures.

I'm using namecheap.com, the same company where I registered the domain. Here's a link to the page with their hosting plans and prices. http://www.namecheap.com/learn/webhosting/web-hosting.asp My plan is the Basic Hosting, about $40/1 year, $70/2 years. It's all I need for now. Later on when I have the money I'll get a dedicated IP fiber access and set up my own servers at home.

. I am thinking of making a website for engineers. A site where everyone can work on projects together, exchange information and help out those who are just starting out as engineers or thinking about becoming one. How much do you pay a year for the server?

Thanks Guys! Gat- That site was generated with Photoshop. I did change the background color but I can change it back tonight when I add this new image. As far as enlarging the gallery frame goes I'll have to do that manually. I'll work on it later. I want to include more links to personal web sites as well. Set one up for your work and I'll add it in. That goes for the rest of my bryce5.com friends too. ;-)

site and the site has a nice layout and easyto navigate, but it lacks good contrast in colors, the blue color is not good for this type of sites, as a matter of fact the only people who use colors like blue, red, green and so on are people who have never made a site before, the reason is black, gray and white are the best colors for any site especially art sites. Also, try to take up as much space as possible to cover a 1024 wide screen size. Good luck!

Bravo for reflection ans specularity. These effects help us distinguish the different forms of the blackness. You know spektyr, this makes me think of the distortions that occur near the event horizon of a black hole, where cause and effect can switch places.
