Chain Reaction 4
This one is essentially the same setup as Ver. 3 with a FOV=60, (original was 180), MRD=10 (original was 6), the mirror box is a flattened cube with full reflection and no specularity (original was a flattened sphere with full specularity), and the toriods have 30% diffusion (original had no diffusion). The gold spotlight ring present in the first was removed for this one and all lighting is from a gold sun only. The render is with RPP=144 and took about 4 hours. All comments welcome.

Thank you again, Miklos!!! I appreciate the compliment. :-)
very nice work
Thanks Guys! I have to agree with you that the diffusion level reduces the contrast and, as a result, the glossiness. I may try a second render with the same settings as the first one, save for the MRD and FOV settings, to see how much better it looks. Horo, I've decided to work on more 3D effect. The Mandala images, although nicely symmetrical, don't achieve as much 3D effect as I'd like. I want to work towards an impact that Ballistic, and other publishers I'll be checking into, will find impressive enough to really consider publishing. In the very least this challenge will inspire me to try new and more unorthodox methods. ;-)
Agreed with Horo. For some reason this one has less extreme contrasts. I like the added darkness the other render features in certain areas. Nice work none the less.
Interesting setup again. It is a bit on the busy side this one and I somehow like the previous one better. Nevertheless, I like how you evolve from the initial mandala-like ones to different forms. This makes your opus so far very interesting for the beholder.
