I wouldn't change the lighting too much. Is there a way to get the bump to be more realistic? It would be cool if there was a way to easily make spider webs. I wonder if the ivy generator could be made to do that and look reasonably convincing. The coloring and mood is good.
Creepy indeed but i will be looking for you new rendition as this is a tad dark for me but I still think you are right I am sure more light changes the mood but you can try some colored lights and maybe get more light and be able to keep the creepy part.
