Nice work! The darkness surely sets a dark mood that fits the title. I don't do people....yet....so I admire those who do them well. Good job!
richter, thank you for your interest and suggestions. As to the "emptiness", it was indeed intentional, sort of representative of the emptiness left in the wake of abuse. Of course all feeling is lost, thus the lack of tears. This image flowed quickly, and I chose not to clutter the image in order to convey the emotion. Again, I thank everyone here for all your comments and critiques, they have helped me to be able to convey my images more effectively.
A believable image, can be taken as photorealistic, though a bit empty due to the darkness. I see it's a personal image and probably you won't rework it, but I think that it will benefit from some "secondary" effects like more specular shiny eyes for us to be able to feel the "moisture" and dramatism there, the ground could use the same to make the environment even more dark cold and disturbing. Just thoughts, your image is very good as it is.
Broken promise - may also be fear. You are a master of dark scenes. I second Rashad with that fiver. Very sad picture.
