ApoTerrain

Made with Bryce

An experiment using a terrain made in Apohysis - inset at lower right. The Apophysis render was converted to 16-bit greyscale and blurred, then imported into Bryce terrain editor. The material used is not the best one could think of. There is a copy of the terrain making up the background and another - inverted - copy making the water. The building is Arboretum designed by Firesong for the Bryce List Feb 2004 Challenge. The scene is lit by my Moiry HDRI, which features a strong sun. Opposite the HDRI sun the Bryce sun to brighten up the shadows.

I see some serious potential here to do some things I have not seen before from Bryce. This material looks great! I do not think I have seen a material behave this way. However did you do it? I think the terrains could have been slightly higher in resolution. The saturation of the green could be pulled back slightly. The water with the foam seems somehow very blue, like marble water. Your haze settings are very effective and give us just the right sense of scale.
