Experimenting with an idea of David once again. A Bryce tree with one leaf, lit by a weak sun, and a spot and a radial with negative light. The ambient light and the background are from the Blue_White_HDRI by Dan Whiteside, free download at http://www.bryceworks.com/objects_dl/faux_ibl/faux_hdri.html the probe was positioned at X=Y=0 with Intensity at 5.5, Effect at 95 and Quality 64. Rendered in a 2/3 day.

Very interesting. I have never tried this but now I might need to play around with it. the angularity of Bryce trees is a problem usually, but this scenes takes advantage of this shortcoming very nicely.However did you get the tiles of leaves to attach only at the very tip?
