Perilous Mountains

Made with Bryce

I got the trimotor once from DAZ. The terrain is a Mordor variant, tilted in the Z-axis, then stretched along the Y-axis and rotated back and scaled. The material applied is "Mountain of Madness" from David, though tweaked a bit. The sky is out of the library: "Cloud layers 2", considerably tweaked. The shadows are brightened using my White Sphere HDRI. The fire has David's "The eye" material. The final render was copied and contrast enhanced with Photoshop. Additionally, a mask was rendered and the normal render was combiled with the contrast enhanced one in HDRShop using the mask. Thus, the sky got more dramatic.

Yes Rashad, that's how I made the terrains. I liked the plane with this angular body and didn't attempt to smooth it. I placed the plane down there to make the mountains appear huge. The near plane spoiled the impression of size. I thought it looked a bit forlorn down there, that's why I added the fire. So it was a crash and the other plane has an excuse to be there, looking for the crashed one. Without the large plane, the scene looked incomplete.

I can't stop wonder why did you put this "fire" there... It doesn't look like a plain-crash, nor it resembles a cozy fireplace, the scale is somehow strange.. Aside from that, impressive jagged edges, Periolous Mountains indeed. Nice and logical distribution of snow. I'm thinking of wheather a bit of erosion over the terrain will lead to improvement. The plane, yes, as Rashad pointed out, there might be unsmoothed faces, then again I don't know much about planes, so the model could be like this in real life. The lighting seems nice by my "light-o-meter" :D Perhaps a bit on the "studio" side taking the shadows into account, but that's a minor.

Looks great. Feels cold. I assume these are terrain tipped over to one side and stretched? Very nice. I feel like I would have liked to see more of this place in the background, seems a bit frontal at the moment. Is there a smoothing issue with the closer airplane?

Better be careful Horo I see one plane has already crashed. I really like this one, Mountains are super
