Peace & Quiet
Another landscape. I feel it is not as good as the others, mostly due to the fact that I did not use the foliage transparency technique for the trees nor for the grass, however I did use it for the bushes leaves and flowers, which is where it counted most. I find that pines usually look better without foliage transparency due to the complexity of the spiky pine leaf models. Lit with my usual outdoor lighting rig. Quite by accident, the sun altitude is very similar to the most recent landscape I developed. The scene is too detailed to be saved as a source file in this complete form, but I do have previous incarnartions. Bryce actually allowed me to save the scene up to the point of adding in the flowers, the bushes were already in place. The bushes and flowers are all made from Bryce trees. I may prepare a tutorial soon on making flowers with the Bryce tree lab. All Bryce! Except for the birds, naturally. Feedback is most aoppreciated. Thanks all for your time.

Fantastic render, I love it.
. Lovely image Rashad, I particularly like seeing blue flowers for some reason - maybe because it's a cool colour and it's darn hot here at the moment! LOL.
Thanks all for your wonderful feedback. i respomnded very fulluy to the 5 butterflies scene, no need to repeat it all here since both scenes are part of the same discussion. Horo, your references are perfect. I feel that the colors shown are consistent more or less with those I see in these two recent renders. Not that the skies might not be a little low in saturation, but to me the skies fall within the believable margin of error. However, more saturation in this current sky would be nice and would not ruin the scene. I want to run a couple of tests before adding more notes here, I have an idea just now, in the mean time, thanks all and more to come!!!!!!
Ok - poor Rashad. I'm always complaining about your sky colours. I put up real photographs of different skies (and vegetations) for everyone needing the colours, on my web site. Goto Raytracing > Resources > Intro.
The richness of vegetation is amazing. The slope to the right shows nicely how the pond is embedded in the landscape. Flowers and grass look excellent. It is indeed very rare to see conifers growing so near to the water. Nevertheless, they look very nice, except the bright and smooth bark. The needles have the right colour and look beautiful. On my LCD monitor, the needles of the farther trees look a bit "noisy". Better AA-ing would surely help. On a CRT they look good. I'm not sure whether there is a tad too much bump on the water or if it is the reflections. Again, more rpp to smooth out the "grainy" effect. Otherwise, the water is really very good, it looks wet and the transparency/reflection/refraction are set to make the water appear very natural. The clouds in the sky help very much to make this render look natural. I'm still not sure whether a tad more blue would improve the sky, though I won't get into a lengthy argument about it. The poses of the 3 birds doesn't convince me but I'm the first to admit that it is very difficult to make them appear natural. The far birds are excellent. Notwithstanding my nitpicking, this is a sure 5/5 for me. The lighting is impeccable.
Well, my comment to "5 Butterflies" may apply here too. Aside of that's been said so far, the only addition I can make is about the treebarks. The way the bark material works, speak more of a sand, then a natural bark, also it is the same on every tree (at least those I see directly). The barks need to be darker, with the appropriate texture pattern. The pine needles, the way you present them here, will never need your foliage transparency. In most positive way that is. You achieve both convincing pines and not wasting more rendertime on places that would go unnoticed. The lighting is absolutely nice as per usual, the water needs its AA but the tranparency/reflection ratio works great in simulating what they call Fresnel effect. Remarkable work overall!
Lovely work as usual Rashad if I only had your talent.....
Thanks guys! This piece was fun. Well, the noise is more an issue of AA than anything. Higher AA is the only remedy. The flat water surface is reflecting the highly detailed pine leaves above, the final combination is not ideal.
Wow. The amount of detail that you put into your landscapes are amazing. I really like everything. The water looks a bit grainy, but still looks quite good.
Another razor sharp render. It looks natural with the exception of the reflection off the water, which looks quite noisy, and the bark on the distant trees looks strange. However, being unskilled with nature images, I have to say that the scene is beautiful as it is. I'm giving it a 4/5.
