Pomegranate Hookah
Hallo, friends! Sorry for not being here for a long time, but I was totally absorbed by my last project. I just wanted to create the whole scene myself, from the models, till textures and lightning. I didn't manage to recreate all I have in mind, so I will post this picture. And last thing: I don't call on smoking, just tried to create nice picture. Hope, you'll like it.

Oh yes, so pleasant to see you're making all of it by yourself. I'd personally shake every artist's hand here for making such step and evolving further. That's the right way. As stated - nice "red" color, it doesn't annoy the eye, rather the contrary, it attracts the eye. The Hookah seem authentic as those I've seen. The fruit is excellent - both shape and texture of the "interior" seeds. Whenever I have problem with shadows, it usually comes down to (naturally) light casting too bright shadows, materials without selfCast- and normal cast shadows, and ambient channel color set to more then 0. If there's IBL involved in the setup - check the light lab and whether the sun shadow-casting options are set correctly (shadows between 65~90%). Once again, I'm glad to see another person, willing to make his very own 3d :)
I too was curious about the shadows. The lighting on the table seems highly uniform, perhaps this is a clue into the lack of shadows? anyhow, very cool image, feels very cozy. Nice hookah model, is it self made?
I was about to complain about the shadows. Otherwise, this is a very nice composition and very well done. I like the colours used. Excellent modelling job, too.
By the way. Don't ask me, where disappeared shadows, I just don't know, I tried almost everything, but couldn't manage to make it visible :(.
