A Single Rose

Made with Bryce

Used Regular AA. Sky setting is at red with shadows at 80. I used two spots on this. Spot #1 is at a distance of -360 which puts it in front of the rose. For the Intensity setting I used 680 with Edge Softness at 100. Render Options are set at Visible Object/Surface, and Infinite Light. Spot #2 is directly above the rose. It is set at red also. Intensity is 100 and Edge Softness is at 80. Options are set at Visible Object/Volume. This is probable the fastest rendering I have created, lol.

Lol, Horo, I'm feeling the same thing. I know there is something I should have done to make this better, but don't know what. Rashad, now that I look at more closely, I agree. All in all, this was, basically, an experiment. I didn't achieve the effect I was looking for. I will practice more on this.

Nice. I think soft shadows would have been the right move here. Flowers are delicate and soft and the sharp edged shadows seem to be in contrast to the soft mood implied. It almost seems like a cell shading effect, which is cool in a certain sense. I can imagine this image as a card cover or something

Very nice, indeed. But I'm not fully satisfied. Not a very helpful comment, but I can't tell you what I don't like.
