Ah - Life
An experiment with the HDRI Inside option in Bryce 7 beta. A tiny HDRI is inside the sphere and is the only light source. On the sphere, a tone-mapped copy of the HDRI is applied as material and there is some transparency to let the light out. The sphere is lit from the inside and the skeleton by the light shining through the sphere. A simple 2D face in the background takes up light and shadow created by the light shining through the sphere.

Wow! Great idea and brilliant picture. Agree with Connor - it is just like personification of human essence - between death and life.
I like it, especially the contrast between the color and black and white, skeleton seems to be part way in-between the two. Seems like the skeleton wants to go into the sphere.
