Hope this isn't too similar, but wanted to show David's suggestion to wrap it in a Pal Variant (Pro Materials in Presets, from DavidBrinnen.com =) Went for the fire instead of the blue lightning...more impact! =O "So many variables, so little time!"

Horo, thanks. =) Want to add a smoke trail, and try other materials in the Pro mat pack. Also want to see if I can do anything realistic as far as animating the flames using the Advanced Animation Lab.
This thing looks like it came down fast on a thick atmosphere. Cool effect.
