Rainy Day In June

Made with Bryce

This picture was inspired by 2 things. First by an old song by the Kinks which gave the title "Rainy Day In June" and second by the game "Red Dead Redemption". I think, the game has an excellent graphic, but especially the thunderstorm, that occasionally occurs is brilliant made. I like particularly the very realistic looking puddles on ground that slowly occur because of the heavy rain. Everything is pure Bryce 7.1. The nice rain texture is by David Brinnen.

I think the final result here is quite nice. The rain illusion holds up just long enough to get the point across. Nice atmospheric work as well, perfection in the clouds and the overall lighting works well for me. Bravo!!!

Nicely done, i have played Red Dead quite a bit myself and you have done a great job in capturing the mood during one of the storms.

Ah, the Kinks, most humorous lyrics. I love those guys. It's been a while. The rain isn't entirely convincing but I shutup because I haven't come up with a better rain yet. Foreground, mid- and background fit together nicely. The trees are good and the sky completely fits the scene. The edges of the puddles are a weak point. The puddles themselves fit with the light and sky and are aptly distributed. Your puddle water and Rebel's edges: that would be the perfect combination. Keep it up man, this is really a great scene.

Great Lighting Love the dark, moody lighting. It creates a really nice ambience of a calm, dark, isolation. At least for me anyway. :) Also, the haze in the background is just PERFECT. The only thing that slightly bugs me is how some of the edges of the puddles seem a bit sharp. Then again maybe not... but you might wanna try adding a bit of moistened dirt at the water's edges to soften that. Oh, and the ripples in the closest puddle take this image to a whole new level. Great job!
