Well.. have you ever started a render and thought that it was going to look good and at the end of 24 hours of said render you looked at it and went Blaa ? Well thats what happened here. It was supposed to be an abstract but i don't think my skills are good enough yet to combine mirrors and volumetrics, I have never done any postwork before, But my kids got me me Paintshop Photo Pro X3, So as i inched this train wreck towards the Recycle bin i had a change of heart and tried to rework it .It is my first attempt at postwork.

Yes you are both correct, it is kind of a symbolic reference to the birth of Tesla, IMHO one of the most overlooked genius of of the 20th century, Tesla believed that power should be free to everyone, i remember hearing that same statement when i was very young, Tesla did in fact invent AC power, so when we plug an appliance into the wall and it comes on we have Tesla to thank.
Ah yes, Nikolai Tesla. I searched for the name. There is a radio play from ZBS which features Nikolai saying "All electricity to the people". That radio play came to my mind when I've seen the picture.
Good old Wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla No cleverness on my part, just the ability to use a search engine.
1. The name of the picture 2. The composition of the picture 3. The date on the picture
Are you going to give any clues for this riddle?
Looks good now with the post work. Sometimes, it is more about the experience than the result.
I think we all have that now and then. A lot of labour finally comes to nothing. You did good with pp and giving it the touch of an old photograph was a good idea, too. So we think it is something that happened, whatever it was. In those times, people experimented with static electricity, rubbing things together using a turning tables, creating flashes. I remember having seen pictures like that in old books.
Thanks David, I am a fan of Stalker as well, There actually is a riddle to this picture, if anyone can figure it out i'm afraid all i can offer is Kudos.
I know exactly what you mean. Well done with the postwork, you have "rescued" this image certainly. To me it speaks of Metropolis or, a favourite game series of mine, Stalker. Or perhaps even 1984, since the central motif looks almost like an ever watchful (and possibly vengeful) eye.
