This picture was made in 2003. As you remember, already at that time in Bryce there appeared a possibility of making trees. However, no instance existed then. But I wanted to make an image with a lot of trees. So, in order to create trees foliage in the middle ground, I created trees crowns from stones applying self-made texture...

Smart move, SamT, clever going with the stones. Good thing about Bryce is making you think outside the box every now and then in order to achieve what you have in mind. Your image suits its name. It all feels very peaceful. Your colors are cold though, they "dictate" the mood impression of the image. Now is a bit on the melancholic side. If you wanted that - you did achieve it.

Great render and great idea for the trees - I thought they were spikes - an alternate method to create conifers in the distance.
Great picture! It is amazing ho You managed to get so many trees in scene in that time. I think Bryce will crash if I tried to open this scene on my actual computer, and in 2003 PC were much weaker I think. This is about technique. As for aesthetics - You did a great job on lightning and composition. I like this picture very much!
