At first contact the aliens reply with a plasma bolt. The DAZ figure and glass was imported and composed in Bryce 6 with light sources and blended colors. Some tone was adjusted in photoshop.

Good idea and nicely done. As STKidd observed, there seem so be the anit-aliasing missing. Bryce 7.1 Pro isn't free anymore but still a bargain at $19.95 (http://www.daz3d.com/bryce-7-pro/)
Good idea, very cool, I like it, One thing though there area lot of jaggies on the suit, Not sure what the AA was set to, try kicking it up to a higher setting it will take longer to render but i am sure you will be pleased with the results, Also Daz is giving away Bryce 7.1 Pro for free, Try using it with some of the premium render settings.
