Big Fancy Cubes 1

Made with Bryce

This one is based on the Cubedodecaheron. Consider a truncated cube attained through self rotation by 45 deg. on all 3 axis. The BSO formula for one unit is Object = (#Cu04 rX45 + (#Cu03 rY45 + (#Cu02 rZ45, + Cu01))) Here + denotes positive and # denotes intersect and ( ) denotes grouping. Render time was two months! Bad choice of material, lighting and render mode! I won't be making that mistake again! But it looks very realistic with the modulated light.

I have two computers. This one is still actually rendering now. The picture you see here has the bottom chopped off because it had not fully rendered when i posted it. I don't have much time because i have to look after my disabled mother. So when i can't use my computers creatively, i have them rendering for months on end. I do 99% of my modelling work in my head [ imagination ] when i can't use my computers. When i get a rare moment to use them, i interrupt a render [save it] and try out my ideas. Usually they work but sometimes Bryce surprises me. People should not think i have a lot of spare time to work with Bryce. So when i can't work with Bryce then my computers may as well be rendering.

Oh dear. A week is usually all I give it. Interesting cube of bevelled cubes.

Another interesting mathematical object of you. Great. You must be a very patient man, if you can wait 2 month for the result. Or you have several computers with Bryce on them ;-)
