MyView
This doesn't look overly spectacular -- truth seldom does. From an ordonance survey map (+LT 1287) I drew the the 100 m isohypses (lines of equal altitude) of a 80 sq km surface and created the greyscale terrain. This kept me busy for 35 hours. This is the view out of my south looking window on an early morning after a night of heavy rain, hence the clouds of vapour rising from the drying forests and the dissolving clouds. The sun is at the correct angle for the time of year. A rare view for me: seldom rain, get hardly up early enough, sitting most of the time in front of the computer.

Texture Thanks. Indeed, the texture gave me a nightmare. I did this once in TerraGen and I had it even more realistic within minutes. Concerning the DTE, I'm still walking through bean soup, but I think I can make out very blurred shades at the far end, so hope persists.
I really like it! Simple, but the mountains are really realistic! I especially like the texture.
