Generally good I like the composition of the pic and the feeling the weather gives -- the leaden look of the water is very fitting. This could be a good pic. The rocks are too coarse and if you take David's advise, you're on your way for improvement. An then, size does matter! I render 1560 x 1170 pixels (for A4 size photo prints) and upload 800 x 600 so it fits on the screen. Test this once: download your favorite pic (from David) and rescale it to 540 x 405 pixels. It is still a wonderful pic, but much less impressive.

I don't know why you arn't pleased with this, it's got a lot of things going for it but anyhow. If you want to change things you are going to into modifying the materials or the sky - water looks spot on to me - or you could try putting in some volume snow... Try mixing the texture components of winter thaw with bryce classic snow using a slope filtering component - now sure what I mean, then download the bluebellwoods materail from either here or my site and it will show you the way ;oP
